EFT deductions occur automatically every month, and there is no service fee! Some companies are now also offering "green discounts" for going completely paperless in addition to signing up for EFT.
- How much can you afford to pay out of pocket in the event of a loss where you are at fault? The standard deductible for physical coverage is $500. Selecting a higher deductible will lower your insurance premium. So if you are willing to pay more out of pocket for an at-fault accident, this may be a good option for you. Ask your agent what the difference in premium would be with a different deductible to help you decide if it is worth it.
- Do you have home insurance? If you do, make sure it is with the same company as your auto insurance, as most companies offer a significant discount for combining policies.
